Yes. At Hey Lady!, growth is something we experience together through shared moments and supportive spaces that encourage us to try. One of the most meaningful ways this comes to life is through our Public Speaking Club. This space has been created to support women who want to strengthen their communication skills, challenge themselves, and feel more confident in expressing their ideas in front of others.
The Public Speaking Club is accessible to all Hey Lady! members, and we encourage you to attend one of the events to observe some of the speeches and the feedback the Coach provides to help each speaker improve. It does not focus on formal theory, rigid techniques, or performance-based evaluation. Instead, it offers something equally valuable: a supportive space where real practice, encouragement, constructive feedback, and personal growth take the central stage.
We recommend this experience for any Hey Lady! member who wants to communicate more confidently, whether at work, university, in professional settings, or within personal projects. It is for those who want to step outside their comfort zone and practise speaking in front of others without fear of judgment.
Here, progress is defined by participation. Showing up consistently, trying and learning through real experience, it’s what matters far more than perfection and excellence.
A Space for Empowered Speakers
Members who choose to be official speakers are never alone in the process. From the moment they step forward, they are supported and guided to prepare for the big day, with helpful resources and live events where they can learn how everything works and feel inspired to take the bull by the horns and give it a try.
Each speaker takes on the challenge of delivering a five-minute speech in English, an experience that helps her formulate her thoughts, structure her ideas, and practise clarity, confidence, and presence. These skills translate directly into real-world situations such as meetings, presentations, and interviews, where authenticity and strong communication skills are essential.
One of the extra benefits the speakers receive is personalised feedback from a Hey Lady! Coach, who observes her live presentation. This is always seen to be valuable and a powerful way to nurture skills and celebrate your contribution. She is not there to critique of criticise, but to offer constructive advice to help you develop your communication skills.
If you are not yet ready to step fully into the spotlight (yet!), that’s ok! The Public Speaking Club is also an interesting space to observe and learn from the experience and feedback of the other speakers. You’ll benefit from the live tips and advice that our Coaches share. You’ll also have the chance to volunteer for short, off-the-cuff speeches during the sessions. These small speaking moments allow participants to get comfortable using their voice, test their confidence, and gradually build the courage to speak in front of others. These brief, spontaneous contributions are the first step toward becoming future speakers. The Club creates momentum gently, allowing confidence to grow at a natural pace.
So, who is the Public Speaking Club for?
This experience is ideal for you if you:
• Want to practise communication skills in a safe environment
• Need to speak more confidently at work or university
• Are looking for a space to tell your story and practise speaking from the heart
• Feel curious about public speaking but unsure where to start
• Prefer community-driven growth over formal training
You do not need experience. You do not need to feel ready. You only need the willingness to take a step - big or small!
The Public Speaking Club reflects the heart of Hey Lady! 💞 human connection, courage, and shared growth. Whether you choose to speak, practise off-the-cuff, or simply listen and learn, this space is here to support you.
Sometimes, the most powerful step is simply saying, “I’ll try.”
